GO PERU (Tourism Cares 2012 initiative in Machu Picchu & Cusco)

The goal of Tourism Cares GO PERU 2012-2014 is to create an adaptive model that mirrors the three key missions of Tourism Cares in America: A significant volunteer event that brings the US and Peruvian tourism professionals together to give back, a grant program for Cultural Heritage in Peru and an educational program that will provide best practices in sustainability, cultural preservation, marketing and customer service. Peruvian “World Heritage Sites” and support for local communities is the main focus. An in-country model organization to mirror Tourism Cares is being established - Turismo Cuida - and will have long-lasting preservation effects in partnership with members of the Peruvian tourism industry.

The Purpose / Mission

Tourism Cares mission is to preserve the travel experience for future generations by building awareness and funding to preserve natural, cultural and historic assets of iconic or universal value to tourism destinations worldwide and educational opportunities.

The Global Outreach Plan (GO)

Over the past decade, Tourism Cares has been fulfilling its mission by providing hundreds of grants, organizing major tourism volunteer projects, awarding scholarships

and providing educational programs in North America. Only the grant programs reached globally.  Now in 2012, Tourism Cares is extending all three of its programs globally. After years of planning, Tourism Cares has selected Peru as its first global outreach (GO) initiative and is, at the same time assessing and vetting other countries for  future outreach.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
